Why You Should Use Neem Leaves In Your Beauty Routine?
What are Neem Leaves?
Neem
is known to have anti-inflammatory,
anti-bacterial, and anti-fungal properties. Neem has been used for centuries
for its medicinal purposes. From curing acne to reducing
psoriasis symptoms, it
is no wonder why it’s often called a miracle tree. It is believed that eating fresh
neem leaves can protect against cancer (although
more research needs to be done).
But more importantly, applying fresh ground neem leaf paste to the skin helps
heal acne as well as other skin conditions such as
eczema and psoriasis. For example,
one study found that an extract from Neem oil was effective in clearing up
severe cases of acne. Neem leaves have been used in Ayurvedic medicine for thousands
of years, and continue to be used today for all sorts of
purposes, both medicinal and cosmetic. Here’s what you need to know about using
neem leaves as part of your beauty routine, and why this simple, cheap ingredient deserves
its place in your medicine cabinet.
How
Do I Use Them?
While
there are many ways to incorporate these
leaves into skincare,
I've found that a paste made from ground neem leaves mixed with either mustard oil or rose water
is most effective. I mix roughly one tablespoon of powdered neem leave
with two tablespoons of oil (or rose water)
and spread it on my face. The subsequent morning, my pores and skin feels
tender and supple. You can also make a similar paste with dried herbs if you
don't have fresh ones on hand; just make sure it's stored in an airtight
container so it doesn't lose its potency! Neem has been used for centuries because of its healing properties but using fresh
plants when possible yields better results than dried herbs.
What
Can They Do For Me?
Neem
is traditional herbal medicine. It can help improve your skin, hair, and
nails with long-term use. Here are some of its benefits: Reduce inflammation and itchiness: The
eugenol present in neem oil can reduce
inflammation and itchiness of acne. Make skin look younger and revitalized:
Neem has anti-bacterial properties that help treat minor infections on your
skin. Clears dandruff: Neem helps control fungal infections causing scalp
irritation such as
dandruff. Acts as natural sunscreen: The antioxidants present in neem oil
help protect against UV damage making it an effective sunscreen for all skin
types; even if you don’t have sensitive skin!
Are
There Any Side Effects?
Neem is naturally beneficial for both internal and external health. Research shows that it contains antibacterial, antifungal, anti-inflammatory, and antiviral properties. You can safely use neem even if you’re on other medications or experiencing other health problems. Furthermore, there are no serious side effects from taking neem 0 internally; only mild stomach upset in some people due to a very small amount of compounds called monoterpenes. As with all-natural remedies, talk to your doctor before making any major changes to your treatment plan. Always avoid taking neem if you are allergic to plants from the Euphorbiaceae family (e.g., teak tree), pregnant or breastfeeding without consulting a doctor first, or are under 18 years old.
My
Favourite Recipes With Neem Leaves
Neem is a traditional Ayurvedic medicinal herb and has many health benefits for the skin. However, using Neem Leaves for skin or any other ailment is not recommended without consulting an Ayurvedic practitioner. Neem is widely used in cooking all over India as it adds flavor to any dish, however, it also contains powerful anti-bacterial and antiseptic properties. These properties make it ideal to add to your culinary repertoire, especially if you have acne-prone skin! I have been adding Neem Leaves to my cooking at home since a very young age.
